8 Things I Learned Traveling St. Barths

I had fantasized of going to St. Barths since I was basically a pre-teen, but always considered it the unattainable island of my dreams. When I was 12 years old, I broke my leg, don’t worry this is the norm for me. What wasn’t normal for me was reading, until I realized I was going to be on crutches during a week-long cruise with very limited activities. So, I bought my first YA book; Gossip Girl. I became obsessed very quickly. I know you’re thinking “what does this have to do with St. Barths?” Well, everything. The entire third book takes place there, the descriptions of the beautiful sun kissed people, crystal blue beaches, and the way they described the forever flowing alcohol and French food… Everything made me want to go there. It all made me want to live like the rich and famous, but I thought they were the only ones that could afford it. I was wrong.

st barths view

  1. The hotels are not as expensive as I had thought. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing cheap about it, you won’t find anything for under $400 a night, but that is far from what I had pictured in my jaded mind. Each hotel is more impressive than the next, so you better be ready for luxury. A lot of the suites and rooms have private plunge pools for the perfect romantic getaway. (Favorite hotels: Le Toiny, and Manapany), but if you just got your trust fund and want to say what the hell you can do it here.

2. Hands down, the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The way that the glowing sun reflected off the blue-green saltwater,            in contrast with the stark white sand could bring a grown man to          tears. Although the downside is that a ton of the beaches there              are not swimmable, because of all the rocks.

3. Many. Villas. Whether they are in hotels or stand alone, they are everywhere. This makes it a great destination for a ton of occasions, multi-generational, couples, bachelorette parties. You can do it all there. The only thing to consider is that the island is built on hills and not everywhere is directly on the beach, but sometimes the view is worth a 10 minute drive.

4. The French know how to have fun. You can spend your nights dancing on tables at Bagatelle, and your days partying by the water at Nikki Beach, there is no lack of things to do and opportunities to bring out your chicest outfit and take down as much rose’ as your body can handle.

5. It is actually pretty easy to get to. They have a ton of non-stop flights from many destinations to St. Maarten, and from there it is just a 10-minute ride in a small plane. If you hate small planes, no need to fear, we have options for you, like flying into Puerto Rico and taking a short almost private plane over.

6. Everyone looks like a model, or thinks they do and has the attire to match, so dress the part.

7. With all of these things, I have to admit that St. Barths was much more laid back than I expected, it didn’t have the stuffy, pretentious feel as the French people have just enough Island vibes in them.

8. Barths has fully recovered from Hurricane that almost destroyed the island and all of the hotels are almost brand new.

How to Look and Feel Your Best on Your Wedding Day

A wedding is a joyous occasion filled with family, friends, and fun; but getting there is not as simple as buying a dress, renting a suit and showing up at the altar.  If you want your day to truly be, “the best day ever” you’ve got to put in some work along the way.  Because wedding planning can take a lot out of you mentally and physically, it can be easy to neglect yourself during this time.  While planning for your big day may feel like a full-time job, it’s necessary to keep in mind that you also want to feel and look your best when your big day comes around.  Keep reading for some tips on how to look and feel your best and enjoy all the hard work you’ve put into wedding planning!

 Hire a professional

keep calm

Most couples want to be involved in the planning of their weddings, especially when it comes to small details.  While this is great, taking on too much can become quite overwhelming.  This is where a wedding planner steps in.  Wedding planners or coordinators take the weight off your shoulders and assume responsibilities from contacting your vendors to orchestrating the flow your wedding minute by minute.  Hiring a wedding coordinator also comes in handy on the day of.  They will be your go-to person answering questions anyone may have, leaving you and your spouse to be stress-free and ready to enjoy the day. Thinking about a destination wedding?  There are wedding coordinators like us for that too!

Establish a grooming routine

A picture says 1000 words and this is especially true on your wedding day.  In order to look your best in your photos, developing a self-care routine early on is crucial.  Stress is a trigger for facial imperfections like cold sores, so you want to be proactive in treating these immediately with Valacyclovir.  If a problematic blemish didn’t RSVP to your big day, it shouldn’t be there!  In addition to flawless skin, it’s equally important to maintain your mane while prepping for your wedding..  Daily gummies to promote healthy hair, skin and nails are the perfect and easy way to kill three birds with one stone and ensure luscious locks on your big day!

Maintain a healthy diet

Since becoming engaged, you may have thought about incorporating diet and exercise into your daily routine.  While sweating for the wedding might be a priority in order to look good on the day of, eating right and exercising provide many benefits beyond the physical.  Exercising regularly and eating certain foods can aid in decreasing the stress that comes with wedding planning. For example, salmon has anti-inflammatory properties that may help to negate certain stress-causing hormones.  Exercise is a great stress reliever and releases endorphins, improves the body’s ability to use oxygen and improves blood flow.

 Remember why you’re there

The true key to looking and feeling your best on your wedding day is putting all the stress aside and remembering that the day is about you pledging your love to your partner in front of the people you care most about.  While it may be easy to forget this from time to time throughout the planning process, keeping this in mind on your wedding day will surely give you butterflies bring a smile to your face.  It’s likely there will also be some things that don’t go 100% the way you planned in your head, but as long as your guests are having a great time, chances are they won’t even notice so don’t let it get to you either!  The day goes by in the blink of an eye so the best thing you can do is stay present and soak in every moment!  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the fruits of your wedding planning labor!

Guy’s Guide To Getting Married

Guy’s Guide to Getting Married

People like to joke that grooms simply need to show up on their wedding day, but that’s really not true. While brides do carry a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to wedding planning, grooms can and should be involved throughout the entire process. Today we’re breaking down what exactly grooms should help with from start to finish. Follow our advice fellas and your bride will never forget why she wanted to marry you in the first place.

Get the Ring

First and foremost, your biggest responsibility is to purchase an engagement ring. This can be a daunting task but your family and friends will be there to help you along the way. First, determine what your budget will be by looking at your savings or consider an engagement ring loan to finance this important purchase. If your partner has hinted strongly towards a particular ring style you’ll be ahead of the game, but if not try stopping into a few jewelry stores with her to get an idea of what she would like. Asking her friends and family for ideas could be helpful as well, as long as they’re good at keeping secrets!

Pop the Question

Once you’ve got the ring it’s time to plan the proposal! Make sure you put some thought into how you’re going to propose and do it in a way that fits your future fianceé and your relationship. Some people might appreciate a loud, public proposal while others would cringe at the idea. Take her personality into consideration and plan something that will make her feel special, loved and hopefully a little surprised!

Have an Opinion

This one sounds simple, but it’s one brides complain about all the time. If your fianceé asks for your opinion on anything wedding related, don’t just say “I don’t know” or worse “I don’t care”. It’s your wedding too, so if they ask what you think, put some thought into it and give a real answer. Your fianceé will appreciate your thoughtfulness even if they don’t completely agree with the opinion you’ve shared.
Pick out Your Tux

While tux shopping doesn’t get all of the pomp and circumstance that wedding dress shopping does, it’s still exciting to pick out what you’ll wear on your wedding day. You’ll want to look sharp for your bride, so whether you’re using a rental or buying a new suit, proper tailoring will make a huge difference. Make sure you order your attire well in advance so there’s no stressing out about if your suit will arrive on time for the big day.
Wrangle the Groomsmen

Your fianceé might have enough of a headache trying to get her bridesmaids on the same page, so don’t let her worry about your groomsmen too. Make sure you get a group chat going and inform them well ahead of time of all important dates they need to attend. You should also be responsible for picking out the groomsmen’s outfits (with input from the bride) and making sure they all acquire the right attire in time to have it tailored, cleaned and looking great for the big day.
Pick Out a Wedding Band

After you’ve purchased her engagement ring don’t forget that you’re about to get some bling of your own! Start shopping for your wedding band three to four months before the wedding so you have time to browse or get something customized if you want. Unique looking black rings or silicone rings for extreme activities are two popular men’s ring trends you may want to look into.
Have an Awesome Bachelor Party

Your Best Man will probably take the lead on this, but you’ll definitely want to help out with some of the planning. Luckily, we’ve got plenty of deals on everything from party busses to pub crawls to make your bachelor party unforgettable. It’s not often you’ll have all of your best buddies together for an occasion like this, so feel free to go all out and make it a memory you’ll never forget.
Get Your Marriage License

This is an easy one for you to take the reins on and take some stress off your future wife. Some quick online research will tell you what documents are needed to obtain your marriage license and how far in advance you can get one. Schedule a lunch date and visit to the city clerk to get the paperwork taken care of and take a moment to relax from the stress of wedding planning.
Plan One Small Surprise

Your bride will likely know every detail of your  wedding day down to the minute it’s supposed to happen, so if you can, try to slip in a small surprise for her. It could be as extravagant as a special piece of jewelry or a huge choreographed dance with your groomsmen, or as simple  as a sweet handwritten note. She’ll love knowing you put the time and thought into surprising her on such a special day and it will become a memory you’ll both cherish.

The Best Pro Football Stadiums For Any Bachelor Party

Hard Rock Stadium, North Miami, FL – With the stadium located in between South Beach and Fort Lauderdale this already makes it the perfect choice for a bachelor party. Now, let’s add the fact that famed nightclub LIV is located one the club level with tickets at $160.00 per person, yup, you read that correctly. You can now pop bottles, and party with your boys surrounded by beautiful people, all while enjoying the best sport there is. They continue to sell alcohol way after the game ends, because why sit in traffic when you can be dancing.

att-stadium-071715-usnews-getty-ftr_152ey43t9604v147i8ltrani6lAT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX – Ever heard the phrase everything is bigger in Texas? Well, Cowboy stadium otherwise known as Jerry World personifies that in every way; From the largest screen at 175 feet settled right on top of the field, to the largest crowd recorded at over 105,000 people, Texas is not lacking. This doesn’t include the fact that you can visit their art gallery, take pictures with the sculptures spread around the grounds, and get an incredible suite right at field level, yup you read that correctly, you don’t have to be all the way up to enjoy the suite life. Just want the game day experience with a bunch of drunk people? Standing-room only tickets will have you surrounded by a college atmosphere on a football crazed balcony. Just like this country they have endless options and opportunities, reminding us all of why they are Americas team.

6135615033_6a319910e0_bLambeau Field, Green Bay, WI – The frozen tundra in Green Bay is one of the most famous football fields in the US, and with good reason. The Packers have been playing there for 6 long decades (the most in the NFL) and its stadium proudly boasts that history; with tons of renovations throughout the years they have the perfect balance of old school and new school. Their “throwback” seats,  and lawn parking, are some of the proof that this stadium has been around and will always be a living breathing look at their past, present, and future! Just want the ultimate tailgate experience? The Tundra Tailgate Zone I where it’s at; right next to the stadium the area is full of excitement, monitors to watch the game, locally brewed beers, live music, and Wisconsin cheese curds; Packers Fan heaven. Plus the best popcorn we have ever tried.

venue-overview-gallery-image-453CGillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA – Fall foliage, football, and freedom. Massachusetts is the next to see the team that everyone loves to hate; The Patriots! This weekend getaway spot is the perfect mix of big city and small town. You can go bar hopping through the lively neighborhoods, they’re cool and have about 20 bars within 3 blocks, so there is no shortage of alcohol, plus Boston is full of Irish people. The 40-minute ride to Gillette Stadium will be worth the trek; all 1.3 million square feet of it are waiting for you to explore, besides the stadium itself of course, there is a hotel, shopping, restaurants, a bowling alley, and to top it off this massive stadium has twice as many parking sorts in their lots as there are parking meters in Boston. So any self-respecting football fan would not leave this off their list, no matter how much you want the Pats to lose.

oEverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL – We are back in the great state of Florida here. Probably because they have some of the few stadiums that are actually tolerable in the winter, where you can bring your favorite bathing suit and literally make a splash watching the Jaguars at this stadium. They are the one and only stadium to have poolside cabanas; sponsored by Bud Light with a lifeguard and all. We could not think of anything that screams “bachelor party” more than football, beer, and bikini clad women.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Amsterdam

Don’t: Forget that the currency in Amsterdam is Euro’s, so we suggest you exchange them ahead of time to spare yourself the headache and rip off.

Do: book a hotel near the city center, or Dam Square. In that area you are walking distance from everything, the flower market is 15 minutes along with Rembrandt Square, the Anne Frank House is 10, and so on. Plus 3 Bulldog coffee shops within a mile, and the Red Light District, of course.

dam square

Don’t: forget to book your tickets for the Anne Frank House as soon as you are 2 months out. They go on sale right away then and sell out extremely quickly, like freaky fast. They also make zero changes on anything, whatever you book is what you get, no matter what.

Do: take one of those cheesy canal boat rides. They are a great way to see the entire city through a different view as it is mainly walking. There is a bar on board for your drinking pleasure, as well as the ability to smoke, for those who partake.

canal ride

Don’t: leave the city without seeing the museums they have to offer, the Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt House Museum, and Hermitage, just to name a few. You can lose yourself for hours just wandering and taking in the culture.

Don’t: get confused if you are looking around and see “coffeshops”, this is NOT their version of Starbucks. These are Amsterdam’s world-famous cannabis coffee shops; proceed with caution.

Do: if you are going to smoke or eat edibles while visiting you need to be careful and know the rules. Smoking is acceptable in the coffeeshops, no tobacco though, strictly ganja in here. If you do not smoke regularly, you may be better off with a spliff than a joint. If you’re going to partake in space cakes, do it in doses the first time, especially if you don’t know your tolerance.

Don’t: miss a night out in Rembrandt Square. This is where most of the Dam’s nightlife happens to be, and luckily all within one square. There are a ton of nightclubs, restaurants, and bars. Also, late night eateries for munchies, and the tram takes you right to the center of it all.rembrandtplein-amsterdam-9

Do: go to the Heineken Experience. It is an hour and a half of touring the original brewery, learning a bit of the history, playing some interactive activities, and even getting a few free beers in the process. Plus, the ability to make and package your own bottle for memories.      heineken

Don’t: be afraid of the Red-Light District, it is awesome. Yes, it is sleazy but that is part of the fun and the experience. You will see hundreds of beautiful naked women standing in the windows, so try not to gawk too hard, remember not to take pictures or they will throw ice water at you. (Although that cold shower may come in handy) For the ladies, just embrace the environment and enjoy the fun.

Do: go experience a sex show. Hear us out first, this is probably not something that you will ever find in your home country, the sexually open environment of Amsterdam is a big part of their culture and something that separates them from most. They have earned their name as “Sin City of Europe” through this and their lax laws.2

Amsterdam is one of the most liberal cities in terms of laws, in the world, experience it all while you’re there because you will not get many chances like these! Amsterdam is an incredible city with so much to do.

We know there are some really fun US cities for a raunchy time but don’t forget about the Caribbean and cruises – All-inclusive = SCANDALOUS!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              invitingStart inviting.  Warning: This can get tricky and stir up drama if you’re not careful about who you’re inviting. Hopefully, everyone gets along and they all have the same mission. TO HAVE FUN! It only takes one vibe-killer to mess up a good night.  Make sure you feel comfortable with them seeing you unfiltered and possibly them holding your hair back while you hug the porcelain goddess – and remember, future sis-in-laws don’t always make that cut!  TIP: Invite everyone into a group chat to communicate so everyone’s on the same page!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  DatesSet a time frame of dates. Flexibility isn’t only a plus under sheets,  it’s also a plus when trying to save costs and plan a bachelorette party! Rates vary depending on dates! Make sure dates are far out with enough time to prepare and save. You also want dates that are convenient for the majority, however, you can’t please everyone!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    BudgetPick a  BUDGET. This one is pretty tough because you may visualize what you want for your bachelorette party but not everyone has the funds to make it happen. *TIP: There are many things to factor in on your budget. Famed for their Tuesday night Brazilian Favela parties, you can get a taste of Miami’s sin and fun here.

The Downside: Their table service is great… unless you’re put in one of the tables in the front of the club, if you are here you are not fully in the crowd and don’t get to experience the real insanity.

LIV – From the second you walk into this world famous hot spot, you will feel like a celeb and most like be dancing the night away right next to them. When you look down at the crowd from the top of their lavish staircase and see thousands of people partying and popping bottles, all your inhibitions will melt away. They also just went through a multi-million dollar renovation ensuring that you will have the most up to date tech and LED lights for the perfect snaps!

The Downside: Basically, no matter what time you get there you will be 6 feet deep in a crowd of people trying to talk to the same bouncer.

rockwell miami

Rockwell – Opened by famed nightclub manager Chris Paciello, this new hotspot on Washington Ave opened during Art Basel week of 2016 and has been making waves since. This smaller scale lounge/club is known for its hip hop night on Mondays, and has seen celebs like Khaled, Rick Ross, Lenny Kravitz, and many more. The layout of the club is reminiscent of a New York lounge mixed with some Miami energy, plus new and old school hip hop to satiate every group! The ceiling is littered with neon lights, the bottle girls are beautiful, wearing next to nothing and carrying bottles topped with sparklers parading through the crowds like your very own VIP show.

The Downside: You need to be either model status, or have the best connections in the world because the doorman that holds the clipboard and entrance is usually an asshole.

11even – Put your cameras away, and get your wallets out. It’s time to eat, drink, dance, and see some titties. This also happens to be our cities first 24 hour club, so you can do this in 20,000sq feet of space at any time of day you please! We recommend this as an afterhours club, drink the night away in the SoFlo area of your choice and then lose your inhibitions here until the sun comes up.

The Downside: Sorry ladies, the dancers are for the boys, not a male stripper in sight. If you are getting a table for a specific DJ you want to see make sure it is in the pit or dancefloor, you can’t see much from the outer surrounding tables.

story miami

Story – Owned by the same people as LIV it’s no surprise that this venue has the best line up of any club here. Not only will names like The Chainsmokers, Zedd, and Tiesto spinning here regularly blow you away, but their light shows will have you tripping without the molly. This massive 27,000- square- foot space is different than many of the Miami clubs because of its vast size, there are lots of areas to hang out without being thrown around like a rag doll in the crowd. The hanging disco balls, complement the circus-style setting perfectly, so you can let loose. In the words of Britney Spears all eyes on you in the center of the ring!

The Downside: You will most likely have to take a cab from almost anywhere because Story is in SoFi and not surrounded by other clubs, so no chance of bar hopping here. BUT they do have Big Pink, the iconic Miami staple late night eatery for all your drunk munchie needs.

Basement – Ice skating, bowling, and clubbing, Oh My! You can find these activities in one convenient location on the beach. Ladies, don’t forget to go on Wednesday night to partake for free.

The Downside: It is a little bit hard to find as it is literally in the basement of the Edition hotel, so you must go through a bit to get there but, so worth it!

Doheny Room – Situated inside of the famed Delano Hotel, Los Angeles’ hotspot Doheny Room has come to Miami. They take the chic Phillipe Stark decor and incorporate it into the design of their stylish and sophisticated new hotspot. They describe themselves as the “anti-club” playlist with classic, Indie rock, 80’s jams, and old school hip hop flow effortlessly through the speakers. They have affordable tables that aren’t burning a hole in your wallet, and a small loungey vibe with all the fixings of a Miami nightclub.

The Downside: Unlike almost every other place in Miami, this bar closes at 2AM instead of the typical 5AM, so plan this as a stop on your night and not your entire plan.

Mynt – Either you’re a business man with a night off, or a hot frat boy from UM with a trustfund and daddys credit card, this is the place to ball out. With millions spent on yearly renovations, you will never get tired of this club no matter how many times you go.

The Downside: Unless you are purchasing a table, these door men are not very friendly and will leave you out in the cold. We would definitely recommend having BTK reserve you a table to ensure a successful night.

Space – They say you haven’t lived until you see the sunrise from this 15+ year old legendary EDM scene. Open after hours Space is definitely somewhere we suggest on your trip to Miami, although we do suggest showing up at around 3 or 4AM, almost every local has been there at least once. So grab your glowsticks, pick your vice of the night, and rave until the afternoon. P.S. On Heat game nights, we love to people watch all you walk of shamers.

The Downside: It is really grimy, and savage, not what you would be used to in an average Miami club. Then again, this is definitely not your average SoFlo club, think way more drugs, less class, and all of the fun.

hyde beach

Hyde Beach – Bikinis. Katsuya. Champagne showers. Do we have your attention yet? SBE has done it yet again, they have brought the West Coast magic to Miami to provide us with one of the few places where you can drink all day, and keep it going throughout the night. Their name got them started but they have branded themselves by their awesome weekend pool parties. They go all out to ensure you have the best time and forget where you are. The pitchers of signature cocktails will make your taste buds explode while getting you nice and drunk along the way. Embrace the endless amounts of champagne being sprayed at you, wash it off in the pool, and prepare yourself for dancing the night away without ever having to go anywhere.

The Downside: If you’re coming with a group you will probably need some kind of bottle service, the reason why it is a downside is because of the pricing, it will cost quite a bit, but your ratchet memories will last forever.

Our BTK tips to surviving Los Angeles!

Be embarrassed by your love of celebrities, take advantage of all the celeb spotting fun. We tried the TMZ tour this time, and it was wonderfully cheesy. The open-air bus is the ultimate sighting machine, the guide tells stories, makes jokes, sings songs, and includes you in on every part of this interactive tour.

Try and see one of your favorite shows live in person… for free! Whether it is Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen, Jeopardy or so many others this is your opportunity to be part of the audience that you are so used to watching from home!

Skip the Venice Beach Boardwalk, it is one of the coolest areas to see, basically the “hippie” part of LA, real hippie though, not skinny white girls on a vegan/yoga diet ”hippie”. This area is always buzzing with street performers hyping up their crowds, people working on their fitness in Muscle Beach, graffiti artist leaving their mark on the beach, and tons of vendors selling      unique handmade crafts. Plus they have a lot of easily accessible weed here for all of your over 21’s!

go to 1OAK for a night that is one of a kind, plus this place goes down in hip-hop history.

spend too much time at the Santa Monica Pier. Santa Monica itself is very beautiful with tons of cute boutique shops, delicious restaurants, and views of the ocean that are awe-inspiring, but the pier is run down, overcrowded, and expensive. Unless you’re going with kids that are interested in the rides, skip it.

Take the Warner Brothers Studio Tour if you are a huge TV and movie buff. You get to discover 110 acres of studios, backlots, props, and everything that the fangirl in you would melt for. They have something for everyone of very generation here. Set your eyes on the different Batmobiles throughout the DC franchise, become a wizard like Harry Potter, or sit on the set of one of the most famous shows, FRIENDS and enjoy a   coffee at Central Perk to name a few.

Take a drive up to Nobu Malibu while watching a west coast Sunset and  Splurge on at least one of your meals.
